How long can I hire the skip?
The standard hire period is for up to 14 days - if you require the skip any longer please contact us for further information.
What areas do you cover?
We cover most areas in a 15 mile radius to us. These areas include Ongar, Brentwood, Havering & Chelmsford plus surrounding towns.
How much notice do I need to give when ordering a skip?
In most cases, 24 hours notice will be sufficient unless a permit is required from your local authority.
When do I need a permit?
Most local authorities require permits for skips that are placed on public land, including footpaths and the highway. In general it is preferable if we arrange this for you because we are also liable for the insurances required by law. We will usually require 2-3 days to obtain a permit - the charge varies from council to council as well as the time you are allowed to keep the skip on the road (typically between 7 and 14 days).
How do I pay for my skip?
You pay on delivery of the skip by cheque or cash. We also accept major credit and debit cards by prior arrangement.
What type of waste can be put in my skip?
Skips can be used for general household waste that is neither liquid nor hazardous. In particular, skips may not be used for items such televisions, monitors, fridges, freezers, fluorescent lights, paints, solvents and asbestos.
How high can I fill my skip?
Skips can be filled no higher than level to the top.
What do I do when my skip is full?
Just give us a call and we will collect within a day or so.
What happens to the waste after the skip has been collected?
Your skip will be taken to our Recycling & Waste Management Centre where it will be emptied and sorted by our trained operatives.
What is a 'wait and load' service?
One of our lorries will be sent to your site and will wait for 30 minutes while the skip is being loaded, our driver will even assist you in loading. Once it is filled the lorry will return to our Recycling & Waste Management Centre.
